Spay/Neuter surgery suite
When Waif took management of the county shelter the dream of an in house spay/neuter clinic became reality thanks to a grant from Bosack-Kruger Foundation and a few dedicated island veterinarians.
The private 501c3 entity WAIF, applied for the grant to fund conversion of a portion of the building into a sterile surgical suite. Though the suite is small, 100% of all WAIF animals are altered prior to adoption. Our veterinarian Dr Bishop says “Waif is limited by small space, too few recovery cages and… level floors would be nice.”
